Areas of Practice

  • We all make mistakes. I’m here to help you navigate the process from arrest to trial, sentencing, and for the other collateral consequences that might come your way.

  • Oregon law allows for you clean your record in certain circumstances once enough time has passed. I can tell you if you are eligible and help make it happen.

  • Although the state typically provides help to victims, it is sometimes a struggle to find your voice. I am here to listen and support in whatever way I can.

Meet Spencer Todd

My name is Spencer. I was born in Salem and I grew up in Turner. I went to South Salem High School (and met my wife when we were both there together). I went to college at Willamette University and got my law degree from Willamette College of Law. For the past thirteen years (since graduating law school and passing the bar), I have been practicing here in Salem.

I started my practice doing court appointed criminal defense work in Polk County. In 2015, I switched over to working with the Marion County Association of Defenders doing court appointed public defense in Marion County. I’ve been involved with MCAD ever since including serving on the MCAD Board of Directors.

My practice initially revolved around misdemeanor cases but I am now primarily focused on murder cases and other serious felonies.

Over the years, I’ve done a few probate/guardianship cases, a couple of eviction cases, and more expungements than I can count. I also represent victims, often pro bono, when they feel like they need help.
